Howdy,

Janet and I slipped up to Vancouver last Friday and stopped by the 72nd
Street access to Boundry Bay. About 1/8th of a mile east to the road
terminus we saw 7 Snowy Owls. Four even fit in the narrow field of view
of my Nikon Sport Lites. A fellow there said he had seen 12 there the
day before.

On the way back up 72nd we stopped at the Variety Farm because of an "Owl"
sign. There we found a raptor rehabilitation center called OWL (Orphaned
WildLife Rehabilitation Society), a non profit organization. The center
is open to the public 10am to 3pm on Saturdays (604)946-3171. Even though
they weren't open we were allowed to walk around and look in the screened
pens. Among the residents were a pair of Golden Eagles, a pair of Balds,
three Barn Owls, a Saw-whet Owl, a Rough-legged Hawk and a Red-tailed. I
believe they may have a Snowy too although we didn't see it.
