Jewett list two specimens of _taverneri_ from Washington, one is from
Kittitas Co and the other is from Yakima Co. both from April 1932. It
would seem logical that we get this form as a migrant, since its known
range is north of our region. Sibely and Monroe already list it as a
separate species stating that it differs in vocalizations, morphology,
and ecology giving Barlow and McGillivary as references. I have writen
McGillivary asking what these differences are but have not recived a reply.

_Taverneri_ has been found breeding at high elevations in California (and
I think in Oregon but I'm not sure). It would be interesting find out
what the status of this form is in Washington as the state could serve
as an imprtant zone of overlap in deternmining it as a speices or not (as
Gene has already stated).

If I can ever find out what a _taverneri_ looks and sounds like, I will
write and illustrate some thing for the WOSNewsletter.
