In response to recent shorebird trip questions:

Bottle Beach is (technically) SW of the bridge in question. I looked at
my Delorme Atlas, and cannot find any Elk Slough, but I suspect it is the
Johns River on the Atlas (T16N R11W section 1). Regardless, it is the
first bridge across any significant waterway after leaving South
Aberdeen. From there head SW on 105 until you reach a long bridge
(100-200 feet), which is over a tidal slough. It's on wooden pilings,
and there are oyster mariculture plots on the west side of it, usually
visible.

Almost exactly 2.5 miles later, the Bottle Beach turnoff will be on the
right. The road is not signed at all anymore, in fact there is now a huge
ROAD CLOSED sign at the entrance. You will not miss this. The road is
obscure, gravel, and is now closed after 20-30 feet. Pay no attention to
the sign, as you can walk from there down the road to the beach. I
believe some sort of development (a county park) is going on here. A
wooden bridge now crosses the small creek (the bridge is also adorned
with 'closed' signs, but cross it anyway. Bottle Beach is the reservoir
for shorebirds until it's too flooded and they have to go to Bowerman.
Bring your boots.

The game range is the Oyhut WA, and Damon Point is the south-easternmost
projection on the Ocean Shores peninsula. The jetty is at Pt. Brown, the
south-westernmost projection. Also look for gray whales from the end of
the jetty.

The visitor info center has a free real estate map which will help immensely.
