I call attention to a much misused term, one I noted on two bulletin-board
messages today: "sitings." A site is a locality. A sight is something
you see. The word referring to the birds you've seen is "sightings."
Thanks for your forebearance--I'm afraid once a teacher, always a teacher.

To add a little value to this note for those who knew the correct word
anyway, I'll mention a Lincoln's Sparrow and a pair of Bushtits that bathed
in my little bird bath simultaneously !!on two separate occasions!! on
4/27--a pair of delightful sightings and presumably only a coincidence (or
do Bushtits wait until another bird is using the bath, indicating it is
safe for them?).
