I have, in the last two years, seen small groups (coveys? flocks?)
of California Quail in the Montlake Fill, adjacent to the UW football
stadium. Most likely, this represents multiple sightings of a single
group, as I've never seen more than one in any one visit to the Fill.

I have also seen numerous pheasants there, which is not terrifically
appealing, as they are exotics, and I know they are responsible for
population declines in prairie chickens in the midwest. Might pheasants
also have an impact on quail populations?
