My bluebird family has finally emerged from their nest box! For the past
week and a half I have had the pleasure of watching mom and dad and 5
babies play in my yard. I'm the person who about 2 months ago asked the
list for advise on what to do with a pair of bluebirds that seemed to be
looking for a place to live. I was encouraged by several people to put up
a bluebird house and see what happens. The bluebirds immediately moved in
and now the babies are out and about learing how to feed. The other day we
were sitting in our family room, one wall is all glass and looks out onto
our yard. All of a sudden the whole family of bluebirds flew over and
landed on the rail of our deck, just 5 feet in front of us. The five
babies were lined up with mom and dad on either end. I think they were
showing off thier kids to us. It was a real treat to see them so close.
They spent about 20 minutes droping down to the ground to snatch something
to eat and then flying back up to the rail to sit.

They also are still going back to the next box and going in and out from
time to time. I thought that once they left they wouldn't go back in.

Anyways, thanks to all of you again for you help with my bluebirds.
