I haven't a lot of experience with Kowa scopes, but the one experience I
had, looking through someone else's scope at a gyrfalcon on the Flats,
convinced me that Kowa was the scope to buy. I have some experience with
zoom eyepieces that are less than wonderful--however, the optics that I
experienced with Kowa zoom eyepiece being used on the scope that I had
the priviledge of looking through, were fantastic--better resolution at
high power than I had on my fixed 20X wide-angle Bushnell Spacemaster II.

Go for it, I'd say!
