Caveat emptor: This is second-hand info, but it may be of interest.
Saturday (13 Aug) afternoon at Ocean Shores we ran into a birder
who had been on the Westport pelagic trip earlier that day. He reported
that during the trip it was announced that a Ruff had been seen Friday at
the central pond on Catala Spit. The bird was supposed to be molting from
breeding plumage. We could not find it.

Shorebird numbers seemed mediocre Saturday (afternoon, rising tide),
but species that were there included Western, Least, Baird's Sandpipers,
Semipalmated Plover, Black-bellied Plover, Pacific Golden Plover,
Short-billed Dowitcher, Greater Yellowlegs, Black Turnstone, Wandering
Tattler.
