Sorry this isn't an answer to your question, Deborah, but only a comment
and a question of my own. First of all, I like the vision of you and
those dragonflies in the brush.

And my question is this: where is the Montlake fill? Several tweeters
have mentioned this place. I've walked through the Arboretum once, but
didn't notice much because it was the day of the Seattle marathon and I
wasn't out for a stroll. And a friend showed me Foster Island, but that
was on a recent summer day when the Montlake cut was absolutely filled
with boat traffic and there were people *everywhere*. No birds of note.
Not even dragonflies.
