If I know anything about the predatory habits of bullfrogs, I would guess
just the opposite--that the bird came down to the water for a drink, and
the frog thought, "hmmmm, I feel like a good meal of bird legs." For the
most part frogs only take moving prey. I remember once seeing the table
turned up in Skagit Co., as I watched a wood duck trying to swallow a
sizable bullfrog stuck in its throat. Its patience exceeded mine, so I left
before I saw the conclusion. Then let me tell you about the western gull
that swallowed the wood duck (no, just kidding....).
