Hi,

Apropos of my Eared Trogon account of yesterday: I misspoke on one point,
describing the wings as "salt and pepper." Only an hour or so later did
I realize that I had confounded TWO life trogons (seen inside of one
week), overlarding my mental images of each. The life trogon with the
salt and pepper wing coverts was the Slaty-tailed Trogon I espied last
week at Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico, another altogether fine example of
that lineage.

PS: commentators have noted subsequently that the Eared Trogon was not to
be found a week later at that spot but that there has been a flurry of
Aztec Thrush sightings in Ramsey Canyon etc. beginning Aug. 13.
