To greatly digress, but to illustrate the point of predators keying
in on nests through human interference--

Some of the wheat growers in the Waterville area used to go to great
lengths to avoid disturbing Short-eared Owl nests found in their fields.
However, they found that a small undisturbed patch in the middle of a
freshly worked field actually attracted ravens.--JT
