Speaking of snipe at Magnuson park, I saw about 13 or so at the
far northern part of NOAA.

Closer to Magnuson, I was walking along
when suddenly a N. Shrike flew up and started hovering with rapid
wingbeats about 4 feet over some longish (7") grass for a few
seconds as if getting ready to pounce on something.
Suddenly its apparent prey flew up and away, ... a snipe !

I spent an hour out at Alkai point today (wed.),
2 Harlequins, 40 Brant, 1 Pelagic corm., 2 Rhino Auklets,
Black and Surf Scoters, Goldeneye, etc.
