Another relatively sure-fire opportunity for a close-up look at male
eurasian wigeons is Greenlake (much maligned for its overcrowdedness, but
full of ducks nonetheless). I've seen two there on several occasions
since Thanksgiving. They're generally on the south or southeast shore of
the lake somewhere between the swimming pool and the stadium, and they're
generally in a large flock of their american buddies, often being fed by
well meaning small children.
