Hi tweeters,

Yesterday afternoon on the way to Dungeness spit a friend and I came
across a small but interesting flock of geese. The flock was mainly
canada geese, but included half a dozen cackling geese, one greater
white-fronted goose, and one blue-phase snow goose. Yes, we considered
the possibility that it was just another domestic goose hybrid, but
unless a hybrid could exactly mimic the coloration, shape and size of a
blue goose, that's what it was; we got several good looks at it. The
flock was in a field on the west side of Kitchen-Dick road where it
intersects with Buckhorn road.

Other highlights of the day included a cassin's auklet at Point No Point
and a grey whale spouting and flipping its tail off Dungeness Spit.
