For the first time in the 20 years I have lived in my house on 39th Ave NE
in Seattle, I heard a bobwhite quail calling from the grassy-brushy Metro
impoundment area at 39th NE and NE 105th street July 10. Don't know why
it's there now, but the habitat is certainly right, all the more secure
because most of the area is behind a fence. Was unable to see it, but I
remember the call from my early birding years in Illinois and Indiana.
