I hope to go birding with my daughter and son-in-law in the far northeast
corner of the state, primarily the Sullivan Lake area recommended by Wahl
and Paulson. Does anyone have recommendations about great places to go,
especially for owls? Advice about that whole northeast area would be
appreciated.

BTW, I went to the ABA convention in Minot in June, primarily to see all
those elusive prairie sparrows (and did see all of them). I didn't send
out any notes about the trip because I thought most folks would find it
boring, but if anyone is planning a trip through Montana, I'd be happy to
give advice about finding McCown's and Chestnut-collared Longspurs and
Pinyon Jays, three of my great lifers on this adventure.
