Barbara,

Two suggestions, both somewhat strenuous. The Freezeout Ridge Trail up
Tiffany Mtn s of Concunully Lake and/or ne of Winthrop, in the first
mile. More reliable but more strenuous is the West Fork Pasayten Creek
trail that leaves for the north from just below the 7400 foot summit
above Harts Pass nw of Mazama in the North Cascades. Spruce Grouse are
also sometimes seen right near the Meadows Campground just s of Harts Pass.
