Dennis' comments are very relevant. The "animal appeared to be in the middle
of the lily-covered pond and made the sound several times during about a five
minute period. It sounded very much like the "woof woof" calls given on the
Peterson Tapes (2nd edition, 1992). I guess it could be a mammal but it sound-
