I go kayaking on the Sound every week (and have for 4 years or so). I
am in fact engaged in a project of paddling every foot of the shoreline.
It never occurred to me to wonder whether numbers of Barrow's
Goldeneyes are increasing, but I was surprised when I started kayaking
at how many there are. Now I am going to start counting them. It seems
to me that I see as many of them as I do their kissing cousins.
