This winter I noticed a pair on Lake Union off Gas Works park which
provided post hoc confirmation of the imaginary scene on the cover of my
1982 _Birding in Seattle and King County_ ! However, I have been seeing
them regularly on Lake Washington at the Cedar River mouth at Renton
airport since 1980+/-.
