Well, I've only lived her for about two years, but I can say that I've
noticed a great increase in the numbers of Barrow's Goldeneyes that I've
seen prior to moving here. In Philadelphia and the Carolina's I saw none.
Here in West Seattle I have been counting them since October. Oct 27, the
first ones for the winter showed up, at total of 14 birds. Their number
stayed at around that until Dec. 30, when 50 birds were counted.

Yesterday, I counted 68, a high count. They almost always stay between
Salty's and the east end of Alki Beach. I almost never see them on the
west side of Alki Point or along Alki Beach. I see them in the cove just
north of Lincoln Park ever once and a while.
