"One Man's Owl", by Bernd Heinrich (of "Ravens In Winter" fame)

This book is the abridged and revised story of how ethologist and
wildlife writer Heinrich raised and observed a Great Horned Owl
which he found blown out of its nest after a storm. I've reached
just about the middle of the book, and I've found it to be fascinating,
insightful and educational as well as a very entertaining read.
I contrast this with Heinrich's earlier book, "Ravens...", which,
while forming a more complete and "scientific" account of the behavior
of the Ravens, I found rather dry and difficult to wade through after
two months of nothing happening! This book is far more fun, but not
at the expense of thoughtful and careful observation.
