It is simply a list of all North American birds (or virtually all) that I
keep on my computer. I keep my lifelist on it, and anyone could easily adapt
it to many other uses. So it's a kind of poor-man's computer program--not
a real program, but still quite useful.

I think it's reasonably complete, though I make no guarantees, and
it has the advantage of being easily edited to correct errors or to keep
up with AOU or ABA checklist changes. If anyone finds mistakes or
deficiencies, please ask them to tell me.
