Susan Crampton of Twisp mentioned to me last night that she thought she
saw a male Blackburnian Warbler along the Chewuch River near Twisp about
a week ago. The bird was in with a large concentration of warblers
apparently grounded by the rainy weather which moved through last week.

Now, she admits she doesn't know warblers that well, but felt that with
a brillant orange throat and crown it couldn't be anything else. I
suggested she write it up and submit it to the rare bird committee, but
she is a little hesitant. If any of you wish to communicate directly
with her, the address is PO Box 162, Twisp Wa 98856; phone 509/996-3240,
6 to 10 evenings best time.
