Subject: Glaucous-wing Gull Survival

Last Dec I was able to read the band number off the band on the leg of a
Glaucous-wing gull at Green Lake. I just got the Certificate of
Appreciation from the banding lab with the information about the gull
that I saw. When it was banded it was to young to fly, the sex was unknown.
It must have been on a nest. It was banded near Oak Bay BC. The year that
the bird was banded was 1978!!!!!! This bird has been around for about as
long as I have been a bird watcher. I started in 1976.

Just thought yall would like to know.
