Teresa, you didn't goof. Anyone can find your address in the heading of
your message through tweeters.

There isn't any general guide book that I would recommend, although Harry
Nehls' Familiar Birds of the Northwest (Portland Audubon Society, available
in some Seattle stores) probably comes closest. Ralph Hoffmann's Birds of
the Pacific States, long out of print but occasionally surfacing in a
used-book store, is wonderful and still highly recommended. There are a
variety of general natural-history books on different regions of the
Northwest, some of which have material about birds, but I don't think I
would recommend them as books for birders per se.
