Yesterday 11/17 I had my first of the fall Common Goldeneye (male) sighting
on the Sammamish Slough. There were also Buffleheads (both sexes), lots of
Hooded Mergansers and Mallards, a Pied Billed Grebe, a Double Crested
Cormorant. The trend toward fewer Wigeons continues; we have dropped from
hundreds to scattered individuals in the last 3 - 4 years. We had a single
Snow Goose in a flock of Canada Geese on 11/14 in a field near the Slough.
