I beg to differ. Most of Alaska is hardly "Pacific" though clearly it is
about as far west as one can go on the continent. "Pacific Northwest" it
seems to me very well characterizes from a North American continental
perspective the region we both inhabit, north perhaps to the Aleutian
chain (though that is "Pacific North" not "northwest" perhaps... depends
on where you're standing.
