Perhaps we can derive a good nation-neutral term from the geologic
affinity of the area in question (at least the western part of it, which
is the part in contention) and call it the "Cascadian West," or simply
"Cascadia." (Or one could recognize another shared characteristic and
call it the "Clearcut West," though this could arguably encompass a
much larger area.)
