This is actually a serious matter to me, Tweeters, as Rob and Syd Cannings
and I are planning a book on dragonflies of this region, and we need to
know what to call it. My coauthors live in Victoria, and they're certainly
not going to accept "Dragonflies of the Pacific Northwest."

Does anyone have a feeling whether Cascadia includes the "inland empire"
east of the Cascades? And of course, Michael, you've got me so sensitized
that I can't believe for a second that Canadians use the same term for
eastern BC. Boyoboy, another consciousness-raising exchange on Tweeters!

Sorry Bob, I agree with Lisa and others that if people want to write about
something, they write about it. I can only hope that people on a geographic
file server occasionally have a little discourse on birds, to get them out
of a rut and into the groove. I can envision "anybody know why the Canary
Islands were named after a bird?"
