The one that really gets my goat (geet?) is the birder/biologist who
refers a "specie" when he/she means the singular. "Specie" as I
understand it is gold or silver, i.e., hard money. "Early on" rings my
bell almost as much. But then, we'd better take notice of the level of
thought and usage with which TV avalanches the public, because it has
replaced the school teacher in setting society's prevailing standards
for the average person during my lifetime. Thought for the day.
