Did I read correctly? 30 (three-zero) Parasitic Jaegers past Point-No-Point
on Puget Sound? Isn't this unusual?

I was going to post that the southbound jaeger migration this year in
Vancouver BC, where normally you can see between 2 and 5 on an average day
at our usual jaeger-watching places (Pt. Roberts, WA; S Jetty at Iona Is.
in Richmond; W Spanish Banks in Vancouver), has been quite sparse to
absent, depending on site; as well, and possibly because, the Common Tern
migration was as meagre.If the Puget Sound number is both accurate and
unique, it suggests an altered migration route this year; if accurate and
regular, what a local bird-tourism destination!

Also, does anybody have any idea where the southbound jaegers first make
contact with the ocean? Do they stage a la shorebirds at a delta site like
Copper River, or do individuals just fly W until their feet get wet? Do
they migrate independently of terns, or do they follow them out to the
