This may not be a notable sighting, but it's the first Rough-Legged I've
noticed this year, and in a spot not known for its raptors. While going
into work this am, around 9:20, I noticed a raptor, probably a
Rough-Legged, perched on Meany Hall (UW campus). It was being mobbed by
crows. I came out of Meany about 5 minutes later and it was still there,
feathers ruffled up (trying to look bigger?). A small group of Husky
fans watched it from across the street. A nice way to start the morning.

I didn't have binoculars, and the bird was approximately 70 feet above me,
but I'm relatively certain of the ID.

I know they winter here, but is this an early sighting?
