Does anyone know of a discussion group dealing with bird rehabilitation?
I am repeating a request for information about bald eagles that received
no response on birdchat.

An acquaintance is seeking opinions about a bald eagle injury in Florida.
An eagle was brought into her bird rehabilitation center with several
lacerations and other wounds. One of these was a puncture wound, the
possible source of which has caused some controversy. Some argue that
the wound was likely the result of a territorial battle with another
eagle, while others claim it is a gunshot wound (even though no shot
showed up on the x-rays).

The question she wants answered is:
In October in Florida, do bald eagles engage in fighting to a degree
that one could receive a talon puncture wound severe enough to ground it?

Thanks,
