Those of you who are interested in the bird populations in Oregon
will be interested in knowing about the publication of a new book
just last month, _Birds of Oregon: Status and Distribution_.
The editors are Jeff Gilligan, Mark Smith, Dennis Rogers, and
Alan Contreras. It is the result of many years of research and
field work in Oregon. It is not an ID book or a site guide, but
a summary of the geographical distribution, abundance, and
seasonal migration of the 477 species that had been recorded in
Oregon as of the cutoff date for publication (we're expecting
more, of course...)

The book can be ordered from the Oregon Field Ornithologists
Bookcase for $24.95, which includes shipping and handling.

This is the paperback version. There is also a hardback for
$32.95, but we're not carrying it at this time.

This will be my one and only post. I don't like commercial
activity in Birdchat, but this is a brand new book that I
thought people would want to know about, and, for those
interested, I didn't think it would be fair to omit purchasing
information since I don't think it has been widely distributed
yet.
