Yes, I agree, much more elegant. Is it possible to change the name?
Seriously. If a large enough group of birders (or others) decides on a
different name for a bird (or animal or plant), is it possible to
"officially" change the name, so the result is immediate, rather than a
more gradual change through popular usage? Perhaps a better word than
"possible" when thinking about such a revision is "feasible," or even
"desirable". Has it been done already? And I don't mean under the guise
of introducing a new species.

Anyway, I got a good chuckle out of "predatory sausage." Appreciate the
cleverness.
