No relocation of the adult alternate YBLO off Pt Roberts WA since Thu, but
a basic-plumaged (juv? hang-about non-breeder?) YBLO today, Mon, Sept 19,
at Blackie Spit just at the E end of Boundary Bay, pales in presence of our
*really* hot bird of the moment, a juv Brown Pelican. Look for
concentration of Common Loons at the mouth of the Nickomekl (yep, that's
the way she's spelled) River. The loons congregate from the Nik R mouth W
out into the Bay.
Good Luck if twitching for it, but they can be tough, tough, tough. Tip:
YBLO stay down longer and travel underwater further when they dive and
unlike COLO do *not* usually come up in the same direction they dived in.
This is what 'em so hard to relocate sometimes.
