Agreed, you're a little odd, and I would happily
include myself in that category too. A thousand
Lesser Yellowlegs! I would have looked for awhile
too. We saw a Pectoral Sandpiper flock, of
10 birds, in the Yucatan, near the
shoreline, also with hundreds of Flamingos in
the background. The Mexico Peterson / Chalif
book said they were not found there in that
season -- if I recall correctly -- yet, there
they were! This was pretty exciting, just
because we were seeing something new, even
if NOT the requisite life bird -- this was
February, 1980 -- but there you have it,
evidence of oddness and/or consistent weirdness.
