There was an Ancient Murrelet at the boat launch in Vantage as of 5pm, 9/23.
Critical field marks were easily seen from shore with binoculars making it one
of the easiest sitings I've ever had, even on the ocean. Seeing this bird at
close range on a sunny, 90 degree day, resting on glassy smooth water was quite
nice compared to the usual sightings from a cold, windy, rainy ferry deck. It
was observed at about 300-400 feet off shore from the boat launch and diving
about twice per minute.
