Well, I still get annoyed at the House Sparrow, but this weekend I put up a
new feeder, and the little things were so very happy! All weekend long, I was
treated to chitterings and happy little noises as they gorged themselves at
the little window feeder. They get chased off the big feeder usually, so they
really enjoyed this one. I woke up this morning to the sight of a sparrow
staring in my window, about a foot from my (bleary, morning-eyed) face. Neat!

Wonderful courtship and territory displays all weekend, too. The neighbor has
those old aluminum window shades above each window, and the sparrows really
make use of them for nesting spaces. I put my feeder directly across from two
of his windows, it's like a birdie 7-11!
