This weekend we went out to eradicate the lone (but large) scotchbroom bush
on our property to prevent it from creating progeny, only to find that
bushtits were busily building a nest in it(!!). So I guess it has managed
to live a few more months. I have to admit, I was somewhat chagrined at
their choice, since there are PLENTY of choices of NATIVE bushes, small and
large trees around for them to use! Oh, well, there's no accounting for
taste...
