Answer: It is a competition between Canadian birders and American birders
and involves a 24 hour birding day in Okanogan county. The Canadians on
their side of the border, the Americans on their side. Presumably the
goal is to see which country can rack up the highest species count for
the day.
It sounds like a lot of fun in which I hope to involve myself.
