I forgot to mention that the Hawaii Audubon Society has a number in
Honolulu that gives you a menu of choices for information relating to
birds including bird trips led by a knowledgeable member at least once a
month. The trips are usually all day the last Saturday of each month and
all are welcome for a small donation $2.00 (I think). Hawaii Audubon has
other services, books for sale, etc.. I don't know if you can reach a
real human at that number or not, but hey, this is the electronic age,
right?
