Subject: Genetic material in egg shells

Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not there would be enough
excrement remaining in the eggshell of a newly-hatched chick from which
DNA could be extracted? We would need very small quantities of DNA to do PCR
analyses.

Any thoughts may be e-mailed to cwalsh at play.psych.mun.ca

Thanks,
Carolyn
