A note on 2 recent threads:

As far as Spruce Grouse go, there is one confirmed nesting record in the
BBA west of the Cascade Crest. It is in the Mt. Baker/Snoqualmie Nat.
For. in T34N R07E SE (Deer Creek/Little Deer Peak). This is about 15
miles southwest of Rockport in Skagit Co. I see quite a few Grice (like
that pluralization? I always thought that's the way it *should* be) from
the North Cascades and northeastern forests. There are no Cascade
Records between the southern Skagit Co. border and I-90. South of I-90
there are 2: a confirmed nesting record from T19N R13E SE (Windy
Pass/Mt. Clifty area - Wenatchee NF). This is 8 miles south of Lake
Kachess in Kittitas Co. The other is a probable breeding record from
T13N R13E NW (west end of Rimrock Lake, Pinegrass Ridge - Wenatchee NF).
This is about 8 miles east of White Pass in Yakima County.

No records from the Blues, but Gilligan et al. report them from the
Wallowas in Oregon. No BBA records for the Olympics either.

As far as reporting bird records go, the following information is a *must*

Species name, date, and location. Locations should be standardized, we
suggest using the Township/range/section system because it is easily
understood, found on 99.99999% of maps, and narrows down a bird's
location to 1 square mile. Dates need to include month/day/year. Other
info of importance might be: landscape level habitats (pine
forest/sagebrush desert), microhabitats (wetland, clearing), and behavior
(roosting, nesting, feeding). And if you want other people to see your
bird, be sure to give adequate directions...
