I was down there yesterday (Sunday 16th) with Fish & Wildlife getting ready
to start a banding program for Western Sandpipers. Not a shorebird in sight.
Ooops not quite true, we did see 11 Greater Yellowlegs. That's all I'm afraid.

Our co-workers in san Francisco are still waiting for numbers to peak there.
The birds are expected to arrive sometime late in the week. The weekend looks
to be the most promising.

High tide was about 3pm, yesterday. So a rough estimate (don't have my tide
tables handy) is that it will be at 9am and 9pm - not ideal unless you get up
early !

Glorious day but not much birding: Common Yellowthroat and Orange-crowned
Warbler singing; 65 White-fronted Geese flying over.

See you there !!!
