Hi Tweeters: I recently got on line with this very
informative group and boy have I enjoyed the birding news
that so many of you have shared. I'm going to unsubscribe
to Tweeters tomorrow in the AM due to the fact that I'm
leaving my computer for the summer here on Bainbridge Island
and going to my job in Alaska as skipper and narrator, MV
Northland, out of Kenai Fjords Tours, Seward, Alaska. I have
a very fun job of taking people on a 110 mile water tour
where we see many birds. The highlite being the Chiswell
Island bird sanctuary. Possibly some of you have been there
and taken the trip. I have many birders from all over that
go with me. I think I hauled 10304 customers last summer.
This is not an advertisement but the fact is, if you are up
in Alaska this summer please look me up. I have a great 3
toed Woodpecker "patch" that I found late in the summer in
the National Park. I spend my days off hiking , learning the
wild flowers and birding. I carry my camcorder every place
I go. I would be happy to share the Woodpecker "patch" with
any Tweeter {free} and hopefully this summer I'll have some
Black Backed Woodpeckers also. The woodpeckers are about 5
minutes off the road and its fairly easy to get to.The wild
flowers are amazing. I'm usually birding every night when I
get off work.I'm easy to find me as I return to the dock
about 5PM every afternoon. Leave a message at the office.
Kenai Fjords Tours Ph 907 224 8068. Ofcourse I have boat
work and fueling that takes up some on my time but I,m sure
I can arrange time for you.Remember, the summer light makes
for great evening birding. I was successful in photographing
a Brown Creeper at 11 o'clock at night. I also know where a
Dipper nests is plus a lot more. Best Regards, Captain
Cormorant, Conrad Selfors Bainbridge Is. Wa.
