Hi, fellow tweeters. I decided to add my thoughts to this thread, as a
person who loves both cats and birds. I am not now a cat "owner," but
have been the fond companion of a feline who roamed free outside. If I
ever decide to share my abode with cats again, the cats will definitely
be indoor-only. Thank you very much, Roger, for your comments. My cat
caused me anguish in two ways: she did catch a few birds, as well as a
frog, and she disappeared from time to time for a few to several
days--days in which I thought she had been killed, either by a car or
another animal. My hypothetical future cats would be safer themselves and
would not prey on native birds and other wildlife.
I'm sure cats raised as indoor-only are content. What I wonder a lot
about is how cats who have had outdoor privileges would react if they
were suddenly restricted to indoors only. Have any other tweeters
decided to change your cats to indoors-only? If so, how did you and the
