I made a quick trip to Bowerman Basin this morning, hoping the huge
flocks of shorebirds might be arriving, but there wasn't much there.
Maybe a couple thousand shorebirds of the usual species. A pleasant
morning, but not exciting. I notice that the Aberdeen Shorebird Festival
continues next weekend, and they're evidently hoping that will be the
great time. Has anyone heard reports from the south about the progress
of the migration?
